Manzanita Hall Wins SCUP/AIA-CAE 2014 National Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture
Manzanita Hall at Arizona State University was awarded the 2014 SCUP/AIA-CAE Excellence in Architecture Honor Award for Restoration or Preservation, the highest possible honor awarded by the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA-CAE). The international award recognizes excellence in higher education projects, with an emphasis on projects that demonstrate how the application of planning tools result in exemplary buildings and institutional success.
“As we sit here today we are proud to have an occupied residence hall that meets all of our needs to support students through a successful holistic and academic experience,” writes Melissa Krewson, Director of University Housing for ASU, in her letter to the SCUP Awards Jury. “With our newly renovated Manzanita Hall, we can see that the program and design are truly key elements to supporting residential communities.”
The project was delivered through a Public Private Partnership with American Campus Communities.
