SCB wins top honors at AIA Chicago’s 2023 Designight receiving the Honor Award for Design Excellence and the Lerch Bates People’s Choice Award for the Tribune Tower Conversion project.

The Tribune Tower Conversion is an example of architecture as stewardship. While converting the office building to luxury residential, the design team aimed to retain the identity and historical importance of the building. The design team opted for the re-construction and preservation of existing non-landmarked buildings rather than demolition and construction of new buildings. The resulting 162 units include 55 unique floor plans, ranging from one-bedrooms to penthouses.
