Prudential Plaza
Prudential Plaza was once the premier East Loop office complex for Class A tenants seeking premium office space and views. Now facing competition in a number of growing markets, new ownership identified the need for new amenities and upgrades to common areas to ensure the property remained relevant to both progressive and traditional office users.
Seeking to invest in the buildings to reposition Prudential Plaza as the destination of choice for first class office users, the owner hired SCB to redevelop the common areas and Randolph Street entry as well as introduce a new amenity program on the eleventh floor. To achieve ownership’s goals, the SCB design team updated the main lobby finishes and lighting, retail storefronts, elevator lobbies, and informal tenant gathering areas in the mezzanine level. Meanwhile, the new amenity program introduced a 4,000 SF tenant lounge complete with a one-of-a-kind 11,000 SF roof deck offering tenants sweeping views of Millennium Park and the city landscape. These capital improvements redefined the building as an appealing and desirable place to work.
A workplace retreat: progressive design for a tenant lounge with personality.
