How did you end up at SCB?

SCB came to the career fair at my school right before graduation and I really connected with the work and conversation we had. I ended up getting hired that summer in the Chicago office. When I was about 3 years in, SCB opened the Seattle office and I jumped at the opportunity to be one of the first people to join the office and help it grow!

What is the most interesting thing you have worked on in the past couple of weeks?

I am currently designing and coordinating an outdoor spa oasis on the 27th floor of a new residential tower in downtown Boise, complete with a hot tub, cold plunge, and meditation deck. I am working closely with our landscape architect, lighting designer, and pool consultant to bring this to reality.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Being able to see and visit projects that I have been a part of. It is so rewarding to see a building you have worked on being built and ultimately enjoyed by the community.

What advice can you give to young or future designers and planners?

Question everything. It is important to understand that there is no single right answer. We are all working together on the same team to come to the best solution, and you likely have an alternate idea or understanding of concepts that are just as valuable as more seasoned designers.
