Melissa Godfrey is an Associate Principal and Studio Director in SCB’s San Francisco office. She brings 15 years of experience as a Project Manager on projects ranging from multi-family residential, office, life sciences, and higher education. Melissa is an adept collaborator, working closely with design teams and clients to bring creative problem-solving that balances design and function while maximizing efficiencies in cost and schedule.
Melissa’s notable projects include Channel House, a new residential development along the Jack London Square waterfront in Oakland; Park Tower at Transbay, the new 48-story LEED Gold home to Facebook in downtown San Francisco; and The Skylyne, the final, and largest, phase of the MacArthur Transit Village in Oakland’s Temescal District. Melissa was also part of the SCB team that lent pro-bono design services to the West Bay Pilipino Multi-Service Center for the renovation of their new community center in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood.
Melissa deeply values sharing her knowledge with future leaders of the built environment, and is active in both the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo internship program and the City College of San Francisco mentorship program. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and serves on the AIA Documents Committee; she is also a certified NCARB and LEED Accredited Professional. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
