Hub Group, North America’s largest intermodal marketing company, retained SCB for the architectural and interior design of their new 130,000 SF corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. The Class A, four-story, LEED Gold facility reflects and reinforces Hub Group’s business objectives, culture, brand, and commitment to sustainability.
Hub Group International Headquarters is one of the largest LEED Gold Certified office buildings in Illinois.
The design team sought to create a streamlined and transparent building, featuring a high-performance, floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall to capitalize on natural light. The building’s highly efficient operating systems optimize interior comfort for employees. The workspaces were designed to encourage collaboration and connectivity among employees through creating thoughtful adjacencies and floor plans sensitive to different work styles and user needs. The open floor plans incorporate spaces for both private and informal breakout meetings that serve to balance the desire for a productive, engaging workplace with operational needs. Hub Group’s new headquarters is a space that speaks to the company’s modern, forward-thinking goals while remaining true to the community-oriented culture that has made it a leader in the transportation industry.
