Sports and Recreation Center
With a new 70,000 SF addition to the existing Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Center, the building now provides ample space for varsity athletic competition and training, as well as club sports, intramurals, and general recreation.
The new facility features a three court gymnasium with wood, rubber, and artificial turf surfaces for a variety of athletic activities. A running track on the gym’s second level mezzanine is flooded with natural light and offers views out to campus. The addition to the lower level includes 12,000 SF for strength and conditioning and provides a variety of free and plate loaded weight benches, selectorized stations, and cardiovascular machines. New locker rooms offer convenient facilities for students, faculty, and staff, and new public restrooms address accessibility issues with the existing building. The addition also includes fully equipped team treatment and hydrotherapy rooms within the trainer’s office and expanded meeting spaces for varsity athletics.
