Nolan Sit is a Principal in SCB’s Seattle office and has been responsible for the design of a diverse body of work including large-scale urban planning projects, complex high-and-mid-rise multifamily residential buildings, and mixed-use developments.

Nolan joined SCB as an intern in the Chicago office, rising to a senior designer and Associate Principal before moving to Seattle in 2019 and starting the firm’s third office. Since then, the office has tripled in size and is busy with active projects throughout Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest.

With a focus on design and building integration, Nolan‘s approach is rooted in creating spaces and places that enhance the urban experience. Currently Nolan is leading the design of The Ives, a mixed-use residential and retail project in downtown Bozeman; 12th & Idaho, a 28-story residential tower slated to be the tallest in the state; 615 Eighth Avenue, a 27-story condominium tower located next to Seattle’s historic Trinity Church. Prior to his moving to Seattle, Nolan was the senior designer on several high-profile projects including Hub50House in Boston’s North End and The Lumen at Playhouse Square in Cleveland’s historic theater district.

Nolan received his Bachelor and Master in Architecture, along with a Master in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is currently a contributing architectural lecturer. He has also lectured at University of Notre Dame. Nolan is a member of the American Institute of Architects; and is a registered architect in Washington, British Columbia, Montana, and Illinois.
